Make your own way to central Athens, where you join up with your host and walk over to a traditional Greek taverna. Meet your chef inside and begin the class with a glass of raki (twice-distilled Greek spirit) while chatting with your group mates.

The Greek diet is a classic example of Mediterranean cuisine, based on colorful foods from both land and sea. Dive right into the world of Greek cuisine with your chef, and learn about hearty stews, fresh shellfish and typical flavorings such as cinnamon, oregano, and lemon.

Prepare an authentic meal under the guidance of your instructor, creating four appetizers and one main course, with plenty of fresh spices and herbs. While recipes tend to vary, expect to learn local favorites such as Greek salad, tzatziki, melitazanopitakia (eggplant pies), and roasted lamb.

After all of your hard work, sit down with your group to savor each of your dishes. Pair your menu with a complimentary glass of wine or a soft drink and chat with your fellow chefs while you eat. Your cooking class will conclude after the meal.

A fun cooking class

Sophia did an excellent job sharing some traditional recipes. She also shared some background of cooking with her mother growing up. The class was a lot of fun with a few jokes and stories shared among the group. My only gripe is that the guide/presenter is stuck with the same 5 recipes for every group. It would be awesome if they provided some variance for seasonal recipes. Our reservation got moved a day since this is the low season for tourists. Fortunately we were able to make the class the next day. The venue is beautiful, clean, and fairly central to most the tourist destinations. The staff there were a lot of fun as well, even though they spoke less English.

Mia was amazing!! My friend and I were the only ones so we were really able to get our hands dirty and cook! Mia is from Australia and her English is excellent. She is funny and charming! She led us through the cooking process of appetizers, main course , sides and dessert. As we prepared each item, the restaurant staff took it and cooked it. At the end, we all went upstairs and were served our delicious creations. There was an enormous amount of food! We ate and laughed together! Great evening , great experience. Recipes are coming home with us so we can make them again.

I went here with my brother and we were pleasantly surprised. We had a group of 11 with a nice mix of people. We made a total of 6 or 7 dishes ranging from simple to a bit more complicated. Sophia was an excellent teacher and the reason this was such a good experience, she was sharing stories, making jokes whilst explaining what and why we were doing, it would not have been the same without her!

There were only four people in my cooking class, which made it more engaging. The food was amazing and there was tons of it!

Great hands on class with many dishes made, recipe book provided and no complaints from me. Even surprised that we made our own filo from scratch. Would thoroughly recommend this. Have already made some of the dishes since I returned home - just as good.

Fun and Delicious

We thoroughly enjoyed this class. Our classroom had a beautiful view of the Acropolis and we made many dishes in a short period of time. The food was wonderful and the company was great. We stayed late to enjoy the wonderful food, wine and company. Rena our chef was a delight from start to finish and she shared many wonderful stories of food and culture. It was me and a 14 year old and we both had a great time and are planning to make a grand feast from our recipes when we return home.

Beautiful Food, Beautiful View

Regardless of whether you are any type of accomplished cook, this class is a must-do. Our chef/home cook, Sophia, was a delight. We prepared various traditional Greek foods from stuffed grape leaves to roasted lamb with everyone pitching in. If needed, gentle guidance was given to those who had never prepared vegetables or herbs before so no one felt left out or incompetent. It was just a lot of fun. We talked, drank the local spirit while nibbling on bread, feta, and olives, and made dinner together. And the view can't be beat. You are literally staring at the Acropolis while preparing an authentic meal. You will not leave hungry and will most likely make some new friends.
