Old boat, elderly guests, incredible staff on board
, Sep 2021
Positive: + helpful, friendly staff on board (even small birthday celebration with cake) + amazing balloon ride over valley of the kings - definitely worth the price!!! + great overview of the most important sights in a short time + decent quality food, mostly egyptian + very friendly, knowledgeable tour guides - special thanks to Michael & Mohamed Abd El Ghany for providing us with amazing insights into all the history we saw and for their hospitality and flexibility in organizing a great program for all of us To be improved: - NO DRINKS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE - not even water!!! - Short sailing time of the boat, the boat stood still for 2 days of 4 in the harbour of Luxor far south from city center - not enough time for visiting sights beyond quick photos, rush of the group - unexpected visit to a local stone workshop with pressure to buy overpriced products - boat has seen better days - deck chairs dirty and old, the few in the shade are often reserved with towels - cocktails weak, small and not what you would expect - not worth the price! Overall, we would do it again and found the value for money really good despite the drinks not being included. We did enjoy the experience even though most guests were much older than us (60+). We would've wished for more time for the sights and for sailing the river Nile. From our perspective, the 2-night tour might be a better fit for younger travelers.
Great sightseeing and guides

The trip was overall great. The highlight were our guides Sultan and Mike who went a long way in our tour. The cruise passes from all the sites of interest. The only drawback would be that the boat could use a bit of an upgrade for the price.
Awesome experience

Awesome experience! Great guides: Michael in Aswan, Mohamed in Komombo and Mahmoud in Luxor! All of them were very nice, polite and helpful. They were always trying to do the best to provide a great tour. They also were not pushing for tips, which is rare in Egypt. The cruise was also very nice, food ok, large and clean room and excellent air conditioning. The cruise is very comfortable way to visit the temples in Aswan and Luxor.

By far this cruise is one of the best experiences. We had a wonderful guide Hani, very knowledgeable with a passion for history. We had a private tour which I highly recommend.
Great Service!

The boat itself was not a 5 star luxurious boat as they described. The food is limited and did not have any variety. HOWEVER, the staff was absolutely amazing. They did everything in their power to make us happy and confortable. The best part of the trip was our guide MICHAEL. He is well spoken and very knowledgeable. He was proffessional, energetic, happy, flexible, and funny. Michael was not only our guide but also a great photographer! For that reason, I'll give this trip 5stars.

This trip was amazing! The ship is beautiful and comfortable. The best part was our guide Michael. He was funny and full of love and knowledge. We got an amazing, real world education on things we had only read about in our history books. But Michael doesn’t stop there. He makes sure your every need is taken care of. He is like a big brother protecting his family. If you book this wonderful experience, request Michael as your guide. Your experience will be incredibly enhanced if you are lucky enough to have him as your guide!

Amazing Experience
, Jul 2021
Our Nile Cruise experience was simply amazing! We flew to Aswan from Cairo the night before the cruise started (stayed one night in Movenpick Hotel in Aswan) and the tour guide Mr. Mohamed (Mo) picked us the next day in the morning to start our City Tour in Aswan (High Dam and Philea Temple). Around 1 pm we boarded the cruise (Blue Shadow) and had lunch, the same day in the afternoon we visited the Nubian Village (which was optional) and it was extremely worth it. We got back for dinner and later on that night the boat started sailing. On the way to Luxor we have visited many temples, but it was Abu Simbel, Luxor Temple and Valley of the Kings that impressed us the most. We also had an opportunity to experience the Hot Air Ballon ride in Luxor (included in the program) organized by Sindbad Hot Air Balloons and had panoramic view of Hatshepsut Temple. The Cruise per se was very well organized, rooms were clean, food was great and the stuff was very hospitable and friendly. There is a small swimming pool on the deck were you could chill out, treadmill and spinning bikes. Please note all drinks are exempted on the Cruise, however prices are the same like everywhere else. Our guide Mr. Mo was very informative, knowledgeable and helpful, he accompanied us during the whole duration of the program. The tour was truly value for money and we strongly recommended it.

Cruise very nice but not the best experience with the tour guide
, Jun 2021
The cruise itself was very nice. The boat has very good conditions, the room was big and well decorated. The food was always perfect, lots of variety, good quality and the staff was very friendly and available. The outside area was also nice, with a small swimming pool. Could have a little more animation, with some music for example. Hot balloon also went smooth and it was fun. The down side: we didn't really have the best experience with our tour guide. We felt it was everything about the money: he was constantly talking about giving tip to everybody and asking for more money. Then we also had a car booked to go to another city and he said "if we go through the normal road, it takes longer, so in order to go faster, we can go through another road, but then you need to hide on the back of the van when we pass through the police control so they won't see you". That didn't make us feel safe at all and we denied it of course. Then also on the last day, he took us to a restaurant/snack bar after we said we wanted to try something more egyptian instead of a typical tourist buffet as he suggested, and the menu was written in arabic. We cannot read it so we asked him what they had. He said: they have everything: falafel and shoarma. We felt like he didn't care and that he thinks tourists are an endless source of money and all want to do and eat the same. We felt also that he was not very happy doing his job and a bit upset if something didn't go exactly as he wanted. A positive recognition to our driver. On the last day he was with us for the whole day, driving from 4am until midnight only only some quick stops and he was very friendly.

Incredible trip
, Apr 2021
Words don't describe this trip of a lifetime that I planned with my friends. It had been on my bucket list for years and we had delayed it due to worry about COVID Land safety. We went and packed as much in as we could including Hot Air Balloon ride, Abu Simbel, and a 3 night on a nile cruise from aswan to LUXOR including the sightseeing. Mody tours provided the most thorough and comprehensive support I have ever had anywhere! Not one moment did we feel unsafe and all services and transportation were top notch. The guides and drivers provided were superb, educational and we loved their company. Specially Ahmed on the Nile Cruise and Abu Simbel. They went over and above to make sure we had memorable experiences. I wish we would have had more time in Luxor and on the cruise All in all the trip of a lifetime! Go and don't worry - they will take care of you and you will have an incredible experience!

Great experience
, Feb 2020
It was my dream since childhood to do a Nile cruise in Egypt, so I did it. I found a lot of websites offering the tour, but I did it with viator. Viator offered me a 3 nights Nile cruise from Aswan to Luxor. I went first to cairo, I spent only one night there. My flight was from cairo to Aswan around 8 am, upon arrival to Aswan met by the tour guide, before going to the boat I visited the high dam and the great temple of Isis. Then I went to the boat I got a nice cabin, I had my lunch, then we took a motor boat to visit the Nubian village, it was a nice tour. In the evening I had my dinner, slept early to wake up early. Early morning, before the sun rise we drove to Abu Simbel, arrived around 8 am, I saw the unique temple of Ramses 2. And also the temple of his beloved wife Nefertary. We drove back to Aswan in lunch time. After lunch our boat started sailing to the north, the view on both sides of the Nile was amazing. We reached the temple of Sobek at Kom Ombo after sun set, waking from the boat was around 7 minutes to reach the entrance of the temple, I spent there around 45 minutes, then I went inside the crocodile museum. When all the tourists back on board, the boat started sailing to Edfu, We had a tasty dinner that night, it was Oriental food. The third day in the morning we visited the huge temple of Horus, Then the boat sailed to Luxor, on the way the boat had to go through Esna lock. Upon arrival in Luxor we did Luxor temple. The fourth and the last day of my trip was amazing, that I did the hot air balloon early morning. I saw the whole city from above, I took a nice photos of the sun rise. After that we did the valley of the kings and the funeral temple of queen Hatchepsut and the colossal statues of Memnon. I had my lunch in a local restaurant in Luxor, then we drove to Karnak temple. It was my last stop in Luxor. I want to thank my tour guide in Egypt and all the crew of the boat. Really enjoyed it so much.
