Overview

Snorkel at Catalina Bay and the Antilla shipwreck during this afternoon excursion in Aruba. Board a catamaran and travel to these two excellent snorkeling spots, where you swim with angelfish, yellowtail snapper, and stingrays. Enjoy drinks from the open bar and snacks onboard the boat.
  • Spot colorful tropical fish like angelfish and parrotfish in the tranquil waters of Catalina Bay
  • Explore Antilla Shipwreck, one of Aruba’s best snorkeling sites, teeming with fish, barracudas, and other marine life
  • Enjoy snacks and beverages from an open bar on board
  • Snorkeling gear and safety briefing included
Travel to Palm Beach's pier to board your luxury catamaran. Climb on board and greet your friendly crew, take advantage of the open bar and help yourself to some snacks while the captain navigates the boat towards your first stop.

Stop at Catalina Bay, a secluded bay with calm, clear water that is ideal for learning to snorkel. Listen to a short safety briefing, don your mask, flippers, and snorkel and jump in. In a depth of approximately 15 feet (five meters) view sea fans and coral, and float through groups of angelfish, blue parrotfish and damselfish.

Climb back on board your catamaran and cruise towards the Antilla wreck. One of the island's most famous snorkeling spots, this 400-foot (122-meter) German freighter was purposefully scuttled off Aruba's waters in 1940 to avoid capture by the Dutch.

Dive in and enjoy 30 to 50 feet (nine to 15 meters) of visibility around the ship, which is now home to an array of diverse marine life. See butterflyfish, stingrays, moray eels, and yellowtail snapper. Swim over to the starboard side of the freighter, which is entirely covered with brain coral, star coral, and white-tipped fire coral.

When your snorkeling adventure is over, board the catamaran and enjoy more snacks and drinks as your captain takes you back to Palm Beach.

This was one of the best experiences I've ever had. The snorkeling in Catalina Bay was spectacular with a wide variety of fish and crystal clear water. There's a slight current, but nothing too difficult to overcome. The water is about 15 feet deep and my 14-yr-old son was able to swim to the bottom and touch the sand. My 9-year-old son was comfortable in the water with a float vest and he was even able to use his swim mask and see lots of fish. We also had plenty of time there to explore. The second stop was the shipwreck. There's no current there, but the water is choppy because it's farther out to sea. Again, it was crystal clear and the deepest blue and the view of the wreck was spectacular. Every time I looked down I screamed and giggled. It was so exciting! There were some fish there, I think, but I wasn't really paying attention to them. My daughter swam farther away to towards the front of the wreck and she was pretty sure she saw a barracuda lurking in a shadow. She dove down towards the ship, but it's much deeper - about 50 feet - so she didn't get close to it. The crew on the ship were extremely helpful and informative (and funny). The drinks were good and seemed to be a little stronger with a little tip. They brought snacks around several times - fruit, empanadas, and pigs in a blanket. The trip out to the cove and the wreck was very smooth on the catamaran. There's a sizable covered portion to stay out of the sun. The front features a net where you can sit and the view through it was even good enough for my 13-year-old who wasn't interested in snorkeling. We've done several excursions through various tour companies and I was pleased with Red Sail Tours. Overall this was a really great experience and I highly recommend it.

I don’t make it a habit of giving poor reviews. I hope this helps them up thier game just a little. I can honestly say this crew didn’t seem to care that we were all on board. We’ve done this type of trip in several island destinations and this was by far the most average and least enthusiastic!! Come on guys.. try a little!! The ship wreck was super cool but it would have been better if the crew was having a little more fun!!

Had a great time on the boat. Staff was very friendly. The snorkel site near the shipwreck had a very strong current. The staff doesn't provide any instruction on snorkeling which was ok with us but would be nice for beginners. Overall I would highly recommend this trip
