Why Travelers Choose This Tour

As well as standard skip-the-line privileges to top museums, this tour also includes a canal cruise and lunch.
Enjoy a full day of Amsterdam’s impressive art and culture on this museum tour and canal cruise combo. Meet your guide in Amsterdam’s Museum District and start your morning at the Rijksmuseum, the Dutch national museum dedicated to the arts and history of the Netherlands. Enjoy skip-the-line privileges and head straight inside the recently renovated museum, with a collection of one million items, with 8,000 on display in 80 galleries. Admire and learn about masterpieces such as Vermeer’s 'Milkmaid' and Rembrandt’s 'Night Watch.' Enjoy lunch at the Rijksmuseum once you have had time to explore.

Then, appreciate Amsterdam's outdoor beauty on a boat tour along the city's UNESCO-listed canals. Enjoy the view as you drift past picturesque canal houses, bridges, classic Dutch gables, churches, towers, and other waterfront delights.

Disembark and continue to the Van Gogh Museum. Inside, an art historian–guide takes your group, limited to 20 people, to select paintings by Van Gogh and provides fascinating background on the artist’s life. See the work of those who inspired Van Gogh throughout various displays of art by other 19th-century painters. After the tour, enjoy free time to explore more of the museum that houses the world’s largest collection of works by Van Gogh, with more than 200 paintings as well as numerous drawings and letters.

Your final stop is at Coster Diamonds, one of the oldest diamond polishing factories still operating today and where the guided portion of the tour ends. Your guide gives you an entrance ticket to the Diamond Museum, which you explore independently.

So glad we booked this all day tour. It was totally worth it. Our guide Pieter was very knowledgeable and passionate about what he showed and taught us. You do cruise through the museums at a quick pace, but you are sure to see the major highlights. Lunch at the Rijks is fine, a bowl of soup, cheese sandwich and coffee, tea and juice. The canal cruise was a nice break from all the walking. Pieter was also very happy to take family photos for us. All in all a great day.

Great tour of the museums. Pieter, our tour guide, is very insightful. His passion for art is very evident that he was able to impart the story/history behind the paintings and the artists. Will definitely recommend this tour. Pieter is the best!

I loved this tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the various artists. She explained different styles and what various objects in paintings were depicting. I am not an art person, but I have a new appreciation after this tour.

Guide was excellent. Showed us what he considered to be the most important pieces of art and explained why. He was very knowledgeable. We would have been clueless on our own. Lunch was good as was the canal tour. That break gave us a chance to rest our feet before moving on to the second museum. Highly recommend this tour!

Dutch Masters Tour

Excellent tour. Guide was superb. One issue for those that like to take photos...in the Rijksmuseum...not supposed to in the Van Gogh museum... but I saw many who did... even with a flash!...the guide wouldn't let us take photos until she was done talking about the painting except she'd go off to the next painting before we had time to take photos...so I was always trying to play catch-up to the next painting...but in fairness... there was a lot to see... and we barely had time for photo taking...but if you like wonderful art... this is a great tour
