After pickup from your Amman hotel, hop inside your comfortable, climate-controlled vehicle with your private driver. Remember to bring sun cream and a sun hat, plus a towel and bathing suit for the Dead Sea.
Then, gaze at Jordan’s desert landscapes as you travel south to Madaba, the ‘City of Mosaics.’ On route, your driver will share information about the region, but will not act as your guide at the destinations.
Upon arrival, hop out at Madaba’s St. George’s Church, the basilica that’s home to the famous Mosaic Map: a 6th-century floor mosaic depicting the Holy Land and Jordan. Walk around this intricate masterpiece, and admire its rich renderings of Jerusalem, Jericho, the Dead Sea and other biblical sites.
Next, continue to Mount Nebo, the hill where the prophet Moses was said to have been granted a view of the Promised Land before he died. Asborb the panoramas over the Jordan Valley from the hillside, which on a clear day, can stretch as as far as Jericho and Jerusalem. Then, view the relics and still-vivid 6th-century floor mosaics on show inside Nebo's memorial church.
Drive on to the Dead Sea, the salt-rich lake located at 1,312 feet (400 meters) below sea level, the Earth’s lowest point. Admire the sparkling, mountain-backed waters, and savor a tasty buffet lunch at the Dead Sea Spa Hotel.
Duly refreshed, choose to relax on a public beach or the beach of a Dead Sea hotel (additional cost). Change into your bathing suit and wade into the salty waters, experiencing their famous buoyancy and perhaps striking the classic pose of reading a newspaper as you float.
After experiencing the waters and spending time as you wish, reconvene with your driver for your return journey, finishing with a hotel drop-off in Amman.

Itinerary
Start your day trip with a pickup from your Amman hotel and meet your private driver for the day who is knowledgeable about the area and its history, and is able to point out sites of interest along the way. The first stop will be at Madaba city, known as the ‘City of Mosaics,’ Madaba owes its popularity to a lavish mosaic map of the Holy Land that covers the floor of St George’s Church. Head inside the church to see it, and learn about its history as well as the town’s other ancient biblical sites from a local guide.

Continue to Mount Nebo, the hill where the prophet Moses was said to have been granted a view of the Promised Land before he died. Admire views of Jordan Valley, seeing the ancient lands of Judah and Jericho, and head inside the Franciscan monastery, which is built on the site of Mount Nebo’s ancient church, to see relics and mosaics.
Duration: 45 minutes

After a buffet lunch at the Dead Sea Hotel (included in the price), have a chance to relax. There are few places better to do so than at the lowest point on Earth: the Dead Sea. Considered one of the world’s true natural wonders, the impressive body of water is fed by a collection of incoming rivers that gush to its land-locked shores. The waters are unable to flow elsewhere, so they evaporate and leave behind a rich concentration of natural salt that attributes to the Dead Sea’s famous buoyancy.
Relax at one of the beaches, or upgrade and spend your free time at the Dead Sea tourist beach rest house. Bob around in the Dead Sea’s salty water, perhaps reading a newspaper as you recline on the surface. How you spend your time at either site is up to you; just remember to bring your bathing suit, a towel, and sunscreen.
Then, relax during the return trip to Amman.
