Your day trip begins with pickup in Adelaide by coach for the drive across the Fleurieu Peninsula to Cape Jervis, where you catch the ferry for a cruise across Backstairs Passage to Penneshaw on Kangaroo Island. Upon arrival, board another coach for your tour of the island.

Then begin your Kangaroo Island experience at Seal Bay Conservation Park to witness Australian sea lions lazing on the beach; take a coastal walk with a National Parks ranger for an up-close look at the colony. After your visit to Seal Bay Conservation Park, you will enjoy a delicious two course lunch.

After lunch, visit Flinders Chase National Park on the rugged southwest coast of the island to walk among the granite boulders known as the Remarkable Rocks. See the rock archway known as Admirals Arch, admire Cape du Couedic and watch long-nosed fur seals as they play and relax.

Throughout your tour, hear about the history of Kangaroo Island and learn interesting facts about the animals from your knowledgeable guide. When your time on the island is up, head back to the ferry landing, watching for more kangaroos along the way, for your ferry ride back to the mainland.

A wonderful day at KI

It was wonderful to see a koala and kangaroos despite the devastation left by the bushfires. We enjoyed seeing the sea lions too.

Marathon of a day but worth it

This is a very loooooong day but with gorgeous scenery and wildlife. I was envious of some people on our tour who opted to spend the night on Kangaroo Island. Not only would that have been much more relaxing, but they were continuing to tour the next day with fun activities such as visiting a honeybee farm, wine tasting, etc! The coach drivers were great… Phil provided excellent history and commentary on the way to the ferry, and Scott did the same while on the island. I know he did his best to show us the highlights just in a day, but it did feel rushed. A stop to buy some authentic souvenirs, as well as a stop for tea or dinner would have been appreciated. If this is your only option to see Kangaroo Island by all means do it. However, if your schedule has the flexibility to spend a night or two there, that would be so much better!! Regardless, make sure to dress warmly if you are visiting during the winter! I’m so glad I had a warm coat, hat and gloves!

Long day, but well worth it.

For this who have limited time, this is the ideal way to get an overview of the amazing Kangaroo Island. This is not a foodie/local produce tour. Instead, it is a great way to see the landscapes and natural beauty of the island, and some of its wildlife. This tour delivers what is says on the packet. It IS a very long day, and there is some limited walking involved, which some of the older tourists found minimally challenging, but not impossible. It was very easy for most people. We loved it. It is a good idea to pack snacks, because food stops are limited to a pleasant enough lunch, and the chance to purchase something for dinner at the wharf or on board the ferry, which does not cater all that well for special dietary needs (the lunch did). The guides are informative and engaged. We are very glad we did this tour.

It was so awesome getting to see so much wildlife and getting up close with the seals, as well as holding a koala! It was also interesting seeing all the damage that the bushfires caused in 2019. The driver/guide Scott was great and seemed to really care about the island and what hes talking about :)

Beautiful rustic natural landscapes of KI. Long time spent on bus between places of interests. Guides are very friendly and fun! Animal farm trip was memorable. Marble Arch landscape was beautiful. Despite the long hours we only managed to see 4 places !!

Great to see the seals so close up. Lunch was delicious. Driver Scott, shared lots of his knowledge on the Island's history, as well as recent events about bush fires. Plenty of time allowed at the various stops. A little disappointed that the wildlife park visit was mostly in the dark and the $40 fee to hold a koala was extreme.

Sea lions and Admirals...
William_S
, May 2022
Sea lions and Admirals arch and remarkable rocks were the highlights. A shame the earlier ferry broke down and we were put on the later ferry which put the whole day behind schedule. Dave, the driver on the island did a great job reorganising the itinerary and got everything covered. Although our return to Adelaide was late it was a good day.

An amazing way to see the best parts of Kangaroo Island in a day. Dave (our tour guide) was phenomenal. It was so good to hear so much about the island from a local. From the history to the everyday life. I would highly recommend this tour if you don’t have heaps of time but are keen to see Kangaroo Island!

really well organized tour.

This was an excellent tour from pick up to drop off there is no denying it was an extremely long day. On the island our bus driver guide Scott provided his time and great knowledge and importantly humor to introduce us to Kangaroo Island. On reflection five or 10 minutes less at each stop and a little bit more time at the animal sanctuary might have been nice but that’s been filthy. Generally a really well organized tour.
