The Basics

Travelers in DC can cruise along the Potomac River on a sunset dinner cruise, water taxi, Washington monuments cruise, DC duck tour, or even a cherry blossom springtime sail. Alternatively, keep your feet on solid ground and admire the Potomac from the Mount Vernon Trail or the East and West Potomac Parks. The latter—a stop on many sightseeing tours—is home to several popular monuments, including the Jefferson Memorial and the Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorial.

Best tour guide and so many stops!
Cassie is the most knowledgeable tour guide and historian I have ever met. She was funny, engaging, smart, and so personable. It was obvious she knows politics, history, and all the good stuff about Washington DC.

Sightsee DC with 10+ Stops & Seasonal Potomac River Cruise or Jefferson Memorial
This tour has been a highlight of our week long trip. We were the only 2 who went so we ended up getting a personal tour. The bus was clean, the driver was so kind, and I cannot say enough about our incredible tour guide. He was knowledgeable about everything we saw. He even pointed out super cool small details. Aside from that, he was very kind and we had conversation going the entire time! I can’t recommend this tour enough.

The experience with signature tours was perfect! Tyrone was our tour guide and I must apologize because I cannot remember the drivers name that drove the bus… But all in all everything was great! Tyrone is very knowledgeable about the different highlights on the tour and his humor and character made it a wonderful experience. My family and I highly recommend this to her to anyone who would love to visit and learn about the history of Washington DC and our country.

Fantastic tour. Larry (tour guide) and Chris (driver) we’re amazing. They were so nice, funny, and informative. We got to visit so many places that we probably wouldn’t have made it to on our own. It was so nice not to worry about driving and to be dropped off and picked up at all the different spots. Highly recommend!!

When to Get There

While the Potomac River is free to enjoy throughout the year, the views are arguably at their best during the spring cherry blossom season and in autumn when colorful leaves create a picturesque frame for the monuments on the shore. Expect high temperatures and high humidity from June to August.
