The Basics

Forty of the palace’s 1,441 rooms are open to the public, including the private apartments of Emperor Franz Joseph and Empress Elisabeth (Sisi), as well as the exquisite 18th-century rooms of Maria-Theresa—the only female ruler of the Habsburg dynasty. The vast palace gardens are also a must-see, with a spectacular palm house made from iron and glass, a hedge maze, and a labyrinth. Visit on a skip-the-line tour to beat the crowds and benefit from the knowledge of an expert guide, or opt for a private tour for a more personalized experience. For an evening of culture and music, attend a live concert in the Schönbrunn Palace Orangery and listen to famous works by Mozart and Strauss. Or, get an overview of the city and the palace on a Vienna city tour, stopping at other highlights such as the Vienna Opera House, the Danube River, and the Kunsthistorisches Museum.

Smart way to visit the palace
This is the best way to enjoy the Schönnberg Palace. Even in February, there were lines and crowds. Skip the line is worth every cent. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and funny. The bus tour was a good way to get one’s bearings on a first-time visit to Vienna.

Skip-the-Line Schonbrunn Palace Guided Tour and Vienna Historical City Tour
We did this tour on Monday. The guide on the coach was excellent in pointing out the interesting places along the route. The coach was very clean with a very good driver. The palace is a piece of art and it's gardens you can stay a whole day touring them. Well done to all.

Small-Group Schönbrunn Palace Half-Day Tour with a Historian Guide
There's absolutely no way we could have gotten anywhere near as great of an experience without Katerina. She took us around for three hours and explained the rooms and histories to us, including some random cool things like the mustach holder applied during sleep. I really cannot recommend this tour enough. Our tour guide also took some fantastic pictures for us, which was lovely

Save your sanity and time and skip the line. This tour is worth every cent. Knowledgeable guide, too. And the bus tour is a great way to get to know the city when you arrive as a first time visitor.

Skip-the-Line Schonbrunn Palace Guided Tour and Vienna Historical City Tour
This tour was fantastic. We received a lot of information from the guide on the way to the Palace as well as a wonderful guided tour inside the Palace. We were given a lot of free time to explore the garden which we absolutely loved seeing covered in a light layer of snow. Highly recommend this tour.

Skip the Line: Schonbrunn Palace Guided Tour in Vienna
Franz was an informative guide, presenting the information with a side of fun and comedy. It made for a more enjoyable tour but still filled with the history of the family. At this time of year, the Christmas market in front is a nice extra! Enjoyable, even in the cold!

Excellent, well organised excursion. From the pick up on a first class coach, to the guides giving informative and interesting commentary right through to the tour of the palace the whole event was top class.

The tour meeting point was well defined and the check-in host was expecting us. The bus tour of Vienna was well organized. The palace tour was very interesting, including much of its story in detail.

The Schönbrunn Palace Orangery

For lovers of music and culture, an evening visit to Schönbrunn Palace is a must. The Schönbrunn Palace Orchestra performs concerts in the fully renovated Palace Orangery, where Mozart himself often played. The orchestra is accompanied by ballet dancers and opera singers, and they perform various works from Mozart and Strauss.
