Also, the commentary was very informative and engaging and, even though I lived in Melbourne for 30 years, I learned a lot from it. (My only criticism is that it would have been good to have more about the Aborigines of the Yarra at the time of European settlement)."

Having 3 days to really explore and enjoy the views both on the coast and hiking in the Grampians was a highlight of our trip to Australia. It is really special to see the Koalas, Kangaroos, wallabies and Emus out in their natural environment. The accommodation, while a bit more rustic than we are accustomed to, was clean and comfortable. Appreciated the well planned itinerary and pit stops along the way. We never felt that we were too long or too short on time anywhere, or too long on the bus. Highly recommend this tour for anyone with a sense of adventure and wanting to really see Australia, rather than just the big cities."

We arrive at Wilson's Prom for our first hike for the day. We embark on a 6.8 km return hike to the famous Mt Oberon's summit to soak up the best coastal views in Victoria. Our next stop is Tidal River for a cheeky ice cream (you’ve earned it) before we head to Squeaky Beach. Wander on the incredibly white rounded grains of quartz, and you’ll soon find out how this popular local beach got its name. Finally, as we depart the National Park, we make one final stop to see our furry native friends, including Wombats, Emus, Kangaroos and Wallabies going about their daily business. This amazing trail is cut into the mountain leading away from Warburton township. You will hike 7km through impressive walls of ferns on this section as well as the amazing flora and fauna that adorns the whole amazing trail. This adventure is hands down better mid-week. On Weekends you’ll share the Redwood Forest with thousands of others
although you can look at them smugly knowing that you have been an intrepid adventurer to get there. Mid-week you can often be alone and therefore it’s completely worth taking days off from work. You will then be collected from the Forest and transported back to Basecamp.
