Akihabara Anime & Game Culture Virtual Tour
Virtually visit Tokyo's Electric Town in Akihabara (Akiba) with a local guide! Join this Akihabara anime tour in Tokyo to hunt games and anime goods.
This virtual tour has been designed for those who plan to visit Akihabara someday and have interests in Japanese anime & game culture.
What travelers treasure the most during the trip is time. To make the full use of every minute, getting a guide is a great way to avoid all those time wasted on getting lost in the street. Especially in Akihabara where there are tons of travelers just going there and purchasing electric products around station, you cannot expect all the fun subcultural spots to be set around station. If you are a game or anime lover, you may get disappointed by finding it so hard to reach all the fun spots like I used to experience. Joining a tour will save you a lot of time and energy for a better traveling experience!

1. The National Art Center, Tokyo (2 hours)
This is a place where Tsuji visits on a date with senior Okudera who is longing for a part-time job. The two people eat at the “Salon de Terondo” on the second floor of the building. This cafe with a conical shape floating in the air seems to be popular for its high-quality sweets such as cakes and macaroons. We have prepared a trip around the building because it is a spot that is a secret spot among the locals.
2. Move to Shinanomachi by electric bicycle (15 minutes)
3. Sakai JR Shinanomachi-mae footbridge (30 minutes)
The footbridge that appears many times in the play is just off JR Shinanomachi Station on the left. This is where Mio and Okudera farewell date and Mitsuha who visited Tokyo tried to call him. You can take a walk, and the docomo tower seen from here is also a spectacular spot.
4. Seitoku Memorial Picture Gallery (1 hour)
The building reflected in the background of the school scene of the samurai and others is the “Saintoku Memorial Painting Hall” on the Jingu Gaien near JR Shinanomachi Station. This museum, which is designated as an important cultural property of the country, displays a precious huge mural depicting the progress of Japanese modernization from the end of the Edo period to the Meiji period. Mural paintings are the times when Japanese clothes are changing from kimono to clothes. The mix of Japanese tradition and Western culture is very interesting, and it is worth seeing if you want to know Japan a little older than today.
* Tickets will be prepared if you apply in advance.
5. Move to Shinjuku by electric bicycle (15 minutes)
6. Lunch (1 hour)
Conveying sushi is planned.
