Mercedes-Benz Museum Tours

Mercedes-Benz Museum
Overview
Spread across nine levels and showcasing over 160 rare vehicles and car-related artifacts, Stuttgart’s Mercedes-Benz Museum is a must-visit destination for automotive enthusiasts. Debuted in 2006 next to the city’s Daimler factory, the museum is also an architectural marvel, thanks to its sleek, double-helix design.

The Basics
Car enthusiasts can learn all about the Mercedes-Benz story and see hundreds of rare vehicles at the luxury car company’s eponymous Stuttgart museum. The collection covers everything from early automobiles to Formula-1 race cars and futuristic concept designs. In addition to the permanent collection, the museum hosts themed temporary exhibits throughout the year.

For a seamless visit, book tickets online before you go. Various guided tours also make it simple to explore the museum’s collection, and many pair a visit with a driving trip along Germany’s famous Autobahn.

Things to Know Before You Go
  • Children age 14 and under receive free admission.
  • A range of hands-on activities are held for younger visitors, including an “Inventor’s Workshop,” drawing classes, and special kids’ tours.
  • Free audio guides are provided in eight languages.
  • Paid English-language tours are held Tuesday–Sunday mornings and can be booked in advance.
  • Large luggage is prohibited in the galleries, but the museum has a free cloakroom.
  • Dining options include an on-site bistro, a deli, and the upscale Bertha’s Restaurant.
  • The Mercedes-Benz Museum is barrier free and fully accessible to wheelchair users.
How to Get There
The Mercedes-Benz Museum is located east of central Stuttgart, across the Neckar River. If using public transportation, take bus line 56 or the S-Bahn line S1 from Stuttgart’s Central Station (Hauptbahnhof) to Neckarpark. For those who plan to drive, the museum offers ample paid parking. Access to the Mercedes-Benz Museum may be restricted during VfB Stuttgart’s home games, in which case it’s best to arrive via the S-Bahn.

When to Get There

The Mercedes-Benz Museum is open every day except Monday. The ticket office shuts one hour prior to closing time. The museum participates in the Long Night of Museums event every March and hosts the annual Mercedes-Benz Concert Summer (Konzertsommer) at the adjacent Mercedes-Benz Stadium in July.

The Porsche Museum

Stuttgart has long been a manufacturing capital, and Mercedes-Benz isn’t the only automotive heavyweight in town. If you’re a true car enthusiast, also plan a visit to the city’s Porsche Museum. In addition to its cutting-edge architecture, the museum showcases 80 rare Porsche models, from early automobiles to concept and race cars.
Address: Mercedesstrasse 100, Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg 70372, Germany

On tour with a friend and his Mercedes S-Class - true first-class service

On tour with a friend and his Mercedes S-Class - true first-class service

star-5
The name of my boutique-style chauffeur and limousine service is "a friend in heidelberg". Many guests of mine told me that this very name is the perfect choice. The stops mentioned under "Itinerary" are possible destinations of our tour. I am more than happy to compose an individual tour, which is based entirely on your preferences and wishes. I was not only born in the famous historical city of Heidelberg and know the area extremely well, but also lived and worked in the US and hence speak fluent English. If you wish I can help you with the organization of your trip ahead of time. You will be chauffeured in a Mercedes S-Class, virtually a private jet for the road, equipped with all state-of-the-art features.
