Sulphur Springs Park

Sulphur Spring Park, Soufriere, St Lucia

The Basics

Sulphur Springs Park is a 114-acre (46-hectare) area located inside St. Lucia’s Piton World Heritage Site. The park is near the old French capital of Soufrière and can be seen in just half an hour or so—though many visitors opt to stay longer and enjoy the “black water” mud baths that are reputed to detoxify the body and heal sunburns, eczema, arthritis, and sore joints.xa0

Admission to the park includes a guided tour of the lunar landscape, pockmarked by vents spewing sulfur steam. A number of tours around St. Lucia include a stop at Sulphur Springs Park; popular options include half- and full-day tours of the island’s sights via a pirate ship, a catamaran, or a convertible Mini Cooper.

We had an amazing time. We had Alleyn as our guide and he was very knowledgeable about the Island, was very chatty and we were very much at ease with him. We stopped at different points to take photos and every step was explained to us.

St Lucia Sulphur Springs Drive- in Volcano Tour & Therapeutic Mud baths
It’s an enjoyable trip, the drive to the volcano was far but it’s a great chance to see more of St Lucia. The mud was nice and the outdoor bath is so relaxing and hot, plus there’s multiple to choose. The sulphur from the volcano is strong but the experience is interesting and there’s a stop at the waterfall. The tour guide couple are nice and helpful.

St Lucia Sulphur Springs Drive- in Volcano Tour & Therapeutic Mud baths
So first thing is that we are in love with these guys - they are the absolute cutest couple we have met and we had such a laugh with them and learned a lot about St Lucia. Also, it was absolutely perfect that we started off early and missed most of the crowds following us - as we left the mud baths there were hoards of people piling in. This tour is highly recommended as you cover a lot in a day from stop offs, a brief tour of the volcano (where you get to learn about a tour guide who fell in one day), the waterfall, the mud baths, driving through pretty and colourful Anse La Raye and kidneys, chicken wings and fried bakes by the road. We hope that soon you get to have your fried bakes with saltfish and peas again if the lady ever turns up on time :)

An Amazing Experience with Great Guides

St Lucia Sulphur Springs Drive- in Volcano Tour & Therapeutic Mud baths
We had an AMAZING experience with Hernell and Alvin they were so much fun! It was great to learn about the St.Lucia history, culture & to try a little of the local foods and adult beverages. They kept us very comfortable on our entire ride offering snacks and cold water. Great conversations as they answered ALL of our questions and more. The best part is Alvin and Hernell did an amazing job capturing our experiences via photos/videos and were our official "tripod" capturing memories that will last a lifetime. My hubby and I truly felt like they were family, as their hospitality was beyond our expectations. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a fun and memorable adventure!!!!

Wildcard

Wash Off in the Falls After soaking in the volcanic mud bath at Sulphur Springs, go for a deep cleanse in the refreshing cascades of Toraille Waterfall, located about a 5-minute drive toward Soufrière. Located in a tranquil tropical garden, the waterfall drops about 50 feet (15.2 meters) from a cliff, and the pool below is perfect for a relaxing swim.
