Indian Heritage Centre Tours

Learn about the culture, heritage, and history of the Indian diaspora in Singapore and Southeast Asia at the Indian Heritage Centre. Located within an architecturally unique building in the heart of Little India, the museum and cultural center features permanent and temporary galleries, interactive exhibits, and hundreds of artifacts.
The Basics
The center is divided into five major themes: early interactions between South Asia and Southeast Asia; the origins and movements of Indians from the 19th century onwards; contributions of early Indian pioneers; social and political awakening of Indians; and contributions of Indians to Singapore as a nation. Visitors can join a guided, docent-led tour, or tour the center on their own with the use of an augmented reality–enabled audio guide. Highlights include exquisite gold necklaces used for the ornamentation of deities and a 19th-century Chettinad doorway with 5,000 intricate carvings.
The Indian Heritage Centre can be visited independently or as part of a guided tour of the Little India neighborhood. Combine it with a half-day Singapore sightseeing tour to see other top highlights, such as Gardens by the Bay or Singapore Botanic Gardens.
