Camara Oscura (Torre de los Perdigones) Tours

Towering high above the Andalusian city of Seville, looking out from the top of the Cámara Oscura allows for some of the best views of the surrounding area. The tower is all that remains of a former lead factory. The unassisted view alone is worth the climb, but the periscope projects a real-time image of the city below using several mirrors and magnifying glasses. The ancient optical device first developed by Chinese philosopher Mozi and Greek philosopher Aristotle is considered a predecessor to the camera.
At 45 meters high, it’s hard to imagine a better vantage point. Walking onto the tower’s balcony is not for the faint of heart (or those with a fear of heights,) but those who are able to will be rewarded with sweeping 360 degree views of the streets below. If the climb makes you hungry, there is also a Spanish restaurant down below at the base.
