Meet Taivas and the Wolfdogs
7
Susimaa is the only wolfdog farm in the North that is open to public and that has it’s reasons. You can’t just put wolf dogs in enclosures & think you can bring visitors to them and they accept it. They have actual wolf inside and are not only look-alikes and thus they act like wolves, some more some less, which means they don’t trust you, you are the intruder. So it is something special, that you can go visit them inside their enclosures with us & get to see them face-to-face, get in real touch with them.
All that is result of a great deal of work and building up a relationship so strong, that they not only trust us, but also that they trust us that much, that you can come inside with us and get in touch with them.
While a visit you will be able to see, that what we offer is NOT business, it IS our life & you get to experience it in in small, individual groups. We believe in being different and selling different and unique adventures, we believe in small scale eco-friendly tourism.

Day At Korouoma Canyon National Park & Auttiköngäs Falls
Korouoma is millions of years old fracture valley in the bedrock. At the center of the valley, it forms a magnificent gorge that drops over 100 meters below its surrounding terrain. It is the main place for ice climbing in the winter but offers much beauty throughout all seasons.
During the summer and fall seasons one may encounter abundant wild animals and floral life with stunning views of the Finnish landscapes. Be on the lookout for natural delicious berries and mushrooms!
The changing altitudes may be a little demanding where fitness level is categorized as easy-moderate. The whole hiking trail (30km) Korouma offers is classified as demanding but this day trip will go on the easier nationally acclaimed ~5km hiking trail. If you are capable of walking up and down, then you can go on this easier hike. During lunch time your guide will demonstrate how to start a fire the Lappish way for your BBQ. Charge your cameras and be ready for Korouma Canyon’s nature.
On the way back to Rovaniemi, we will stop in another protected forest area, where we will have a chance to admire the stunning falls Auttiköngäs.
