Rocinha Lucky Tour
21
A Unique Experience
Join me on a unforgettable trip around the largest Favela in Brazil.
Through alleys and streets, see and learn about our history and social culture, all while going through unique places you can't find anywhere else in the world!
Dangerous? Not quite!
Despite the claims of the Media and people who never actually visited us, the Rocinha Favela is one of the safest place in all Rio. Specially during local tour schedules!
Have a 100% safe walk on a living urban history site with a local guide that is there to both accompany and take care of you.
What makes Lucky Tour different?
The biggest difference between Lucky and other general Tour Agencies, it's that the your trip is made with a local guide, born and raised inside the Favela, that takes you through places that most Guides won't, mostly out of fear or they don't know the Labyrinth that Rocinha can be.
You can't leave Rio without visiting us! Everyone is equal in our place!

Hiking in Little Africa
5
In this tour you will get to know some of the places of the city of Rio de Janeiro called "Little Africa" by artist and sambista Heitor dos Prazeres in the early twentieth century. These sites are part of the historical and archaeological circuit of celebration and awareness of the African heritage of blacks in Brazil.
"Little Africa" has come to identify a significant part of the city's waterfront, where African presence and black cultural heritage have forever marked the history, not just of Rio de Janeiro but throughout Brazil.
Often blacks from all over the country were welcomed there, usually by "Aunt Ciata" who was a very important figure for this whole historical process. It is through this walk through "Little Africa" you will also get to know the Cultural Center "Tia Ciata", Museum of New Blacks, Cais do Valongo, hanging garden and we will finish in Pedra do Sal where besides the historical collection also has great bars and restaurants of typical Afro-Brazilian foods.

Rio de Janeiro Little Africa Walking Tour - World Heritage Site
10
This tour is special because Little Africa is situated in a region where the African presence has left a living heritage, which perpetuates and is renewed to this day. It expresses, therefore, struggle and resistance.
Brazil was the destination of at least 40% of all Africans who arrived as captives in the Americas between the sixteenth and nineteenth centuries. Out of these, about 60% entered through Rio de Janeiro's port, almost a quarter of all Africans enslaved in the Americas.
The city of Rio de Janeiro can be considered the largest port of slavery in the history of mankind.
The history and impacts of slavery trade lined up Brazil’s colonial heritage and contribute to dynamics and exclusions socioeconomic conditions that permeate the whole Brazil society till nowadays. Fortunately, it also resulted in the creation of vibrant Brazilian culture, multivocal and multifaceted, rich in cultural matrices, colors, and flavors.
