Protaras Ocean Aquarium
The Protaras Ocean Aquarium is Cyprus’ only purpose-built aquarium. This popular family attraction is home to more than 1,000 marine animals, as well as an aviary and a series of tropical gardens.
Visitors can prebook admission tickets to enjoy skip-the-line admission and full access to the aquarium and gardens. Once inside, animal lovers can spot marine life including piranhas, stingrays, turtles, and crocodiles; visit the Penguin House to see the Humboldt penguins; and stroll around the gardens, home to a variety of exotic birds, monkeys, racoons, and other animals.

How to Get There
The Protaras Ocean Aquarium is located just north of Protaras, along the E306 road. The easiest way to get there is by taxi, which takes about 15 minutes from central Protaras, but local buses also run from Protaras and nearby Ayia Napa.

The resort town of Protaras is home to a number of sandy beaches, most notably at Fig Tree Bay, a popular spot for water sports like windsurfing and parasailing. Visitors can also hike the coastal trail to Konnos Beach, explore the Cape Greco National Forest Park, or walk or cycle along the Protaras to Pernera Coastal Promenade. Nearby attractions include the pilgrimage site of Ayios Nikolaos Church and the Byzantine-style Church of Profitis Elias.
