Mundo a Vapor
Discover Brazil’s steam revolution through a series of fun and interactive exhibitions. Miniature replicas show steam-powered technology in all of its forms, which include a steam-powered railway, a steel mill, a tile factory, a quarry, the world’s smallest paper mill, and a Yerba Mate factory. There are more than 20 different exhibitions to discover, each of which offers insight into the manufacturing process of each machine.

Mundo a Vapor is a great choice for families, due to exhibitions that are both entertaining and educational.
Don’t forget to take a photo of the dramatic entrance to Mundo a Vapor, which depicts the 1985 Paris Montparnasse train incident.

How to Get There
Mundo a Vapor park is located in Canela, around 66 miles (107 kilometers) northeast of Porto Alegre. There is no public transport directly to the park, but you can take a taxi from Canela or Gramado. There’s plenty of free parking outside of the park.
When to Get There
The park is open daily, except Wednesdays, from 9am-5pm. The busiest months are December, January, and July, when it’s open every day.
Amusement Parks in Canela
Mundo a Vapor is one of a number of theme parks in the area. Also in Canela, you’ll find the Florybal Magic Park Land, which has rides aimed at children under 12 and a 7D cinema; and the Alpen Park, which has rollercoasters, ziplines, and other activities. In neighboring Gramado, there’s the winter-themed Snowland park, where you can try skiing and snowboarding, and Santa’s Village, the Brazilian home of Santa Claus.
