Cranbrook Flower Forest
The Basics
Cranbrook Flower Forest, about 18 minutes west of Ocho Rios, is not nearly as well-known as other attractions in the resort area, though it holds a treasure trove of beauty. At the entrance, travelers are greeted with the restored remains of an old sugar mill and a friendly peacock or two. One-and-a-half miles of nature trails lined with royal palms wind through landscaped gardens and verdant tropical rain forest, leading to tranquil swimming holes, a pagoda overlooking the river, and a greenhouse packed with orchids and anthuriums. The forest is home to hibiscus, ferns, begonias, philodendrons, birds of paradise, and more. On a tour, visitors may follow the pathways on foot or on horseback.
