Bunker-42 Cold War Museum
The only way to access Bunker-42 is by guided tour. When you arrive, you receive a "secret pass," which grants you access to the bunker. Once inside, explore the network of tunnels and rooms; see the old Command Post, generators, and storage rooms; watch a 20-minute film on nuclear testing in the Cold War; and admire the collection of Soviet-era memorabilia, including military uniforms and weapons.
Things to Know Before You Go
Group tours take around one hour.
Tours are conducted in Russian and English.
There is also a Bunker-42 restaurant and bar located in one of the underground tunnels.
The bunker is wheelchair accessible.
How to Get There
Bunker-42 Cold War Museum is located in the Taganka district of Moscow. The closest metro station is Taganskaya, less than a 5-minute walk away.
When to Get There
The bunker is open daily from 10am to 10pm. Tours are by appointment only.

Bunker-42 is one of many Soviet sites in Moscow offering insight into Cold War-era Russia. Others include VDNKh (All-Russia Exhibition Center), filled with Soviet-era palaces and monuments, Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics, and Buran museum.
