Perched on the doorstep of both Canyonlands National Park and Arches National Park, Moab is a top outdoor adventure destination in the United States. Come for world-class hiking and biking, off-roading, canyoneering, and other high-adrenaline fun, and stay for the town’s laid-back cool. Here are a some of Moab’s best adventures.

Mountain Biking
Cyclists know Moab as one of the area’s most challenging rides—the iconic Slickrock Trail covers 9.6 miles (15.4 kilometers) of highly technical terrain. But that’s just the beginning of mountain biking in Moab, and there’s riding near the city for all skill levels. While finding the right trail can be a challenge, guided bike tours help pair riders with the perfect route (and offer a helpful lift to the trailhead).

Hiking
Some of Moab’s best hiking is found within the two nearby national parks; the most popular might be the 3-mile (4.8-kilometer) walk to Delicate Arch in Arches, where crowds gather to watch the sunset and moonrise above the desert. Hiking in Moab can mean temperature extremes, so be sure to set out with plenty of water, extra layers, and a wide-brimmed hat.

Canyoneering
Rope up to explore the places where the landscape is too narrow, steep, and winding for trails. Canyoneering requires a highly specialized skill set, but with the proper gear and an expert guide, you can see places that few travelers will ever glimpse as you rappel down sheer cliffs, squeeze through tiny passageways, and hike into stony washes.

4WD Adventures
Some seriously rugged terrain means that much of the land around Moab can only be reached by 4WD (don’t even think about revving your rental sedan down these roads). Off-road tours range from guided jaunts in enclosed Jeeps to self-drive adventures in open-air vehicles that are made for the gnarliest of surfaces.

Rafting
It’s not all arid land and slickrock in the Utah desert, and Moab is a great base camp for planning a rafting trip, too. If you’re white-water rafting for the first time, check the “Class” rating of the tour; the higher the number, the more difficult the rapids. One favorite rafting trip from Moab is on the Colorado River, which offers more than a great time on the water—it gives you a front-row seat to nature.

This is not a rental vehicle – so there won't be any huge deposits or credit card holds. This option is great because it is an experience that is great for both the experienced and un experienced off-road driver. With a guide, you'll know exactly where to go and what to do. Our 4 seater vehicles are private so only your family will be riding together in that vehicle. The vehicles are very easy to drive and user friendly. Your guide will give you a safety and instruction talk before your tour. If more than one person wants to drive during the duration of the tour that is ok! As long as they bring their valid license and are 18 or older. Hells Revenge trail is a slick rock trail in the Sand Flats Recreation Area. It is a 4 minute ride from our store to the trail head. We will meet and load up at our location and head out right from there. Riding up and over the red rock domes are unique to our area and exciting for any visitors.

This is an area where many motion pictures and commercials have been filmed over the years. John Wayne and John Ford filmed a lot of old westerns in this area. * A traveler said: "Such an amazing experience! The team of guides we had were authentic and genuine (shout out to Katie, Greg, Lake, and Ethan); you can tell they truly enjoyed their job and their life. It was truly full service from pick up, drive to and from, rafting and LUNCH! I thought lunch would just be "here are some snacks," but it really was an actual lunch. The rapids were exciting and provided an adrenaline rush. The guides gave us safety tips and were clearly competent and confident if something were to happen. I was curious to see where the overall 'half' start came from and after reading other reviews, I could see why ppl might be bummed about their experience. That being said, I would recommend/suggest that you 'claim' a paddle boat if that is what you want. An option might be for Navtec to offer an optional upgrade to guarantee a spot in the paddle boats. Other reviewers mentioned no A/C (*eye roll), long drive (*eye roll*), and small rapids. Navtec can't control the rhythm of the rapids or the water levels, so I don't think they should be faulted for that. Overall, I would highly recommend, absolutely worth the price point, and I'm ready to do it again."

The Moab desert is our home and we are passionate about sharing it with others. During your guided tour, you will not only safely descend a beautiful, water-carved canyon, but you will learn about the flora and fauna, geology and history of the area that we are so lucky to call our backyard.
