Mini Malaysia & ASEAN Cultural Park Tours

The Mini Malaysia & ASEAN Cultural Park offers replicas of Malaysian homes from across the country’s 13 states (as well as other countries in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations region). Art and architecture enthusiasts will especially enjoy this park, and it provides a fun, educational outing for families.
The Basics
At the Mini Malaysia & ASEAN Cultural Park, the houses from the different areas of the region are set on what looks like a residential street. Stroll through them at your leisure, taking time to study the structures and the exhibits they hold; each home is decorated in a way that reflects the state or country it comes from and contains handicrafts displays. The park also puts on music and dance performances and offers kayaking, fishing, horse riding, and traditional games from around Malaysia.
Things to Know Before You Go
- The park charges different entry fees for Malaysians and non-Malaysians.
- It’s a good idea to supervise your kids at all times, as some parts of the park are under construction or in need of renovation and could be hazardous.
- Wear slip-on shoes if possible, as shoes must be removed to enter the houses.
- There’s a small pool within the park, which is particularly suitable for young kids to cool off in.
How to Get There
The park is in the town of Ayer Keroh, just north of Melaka city. There’s a bus station at the ASEAN park for travelers wishing to take a bus from Melaka. Alternatively, drive along the M31 highway from Melaka to Ayer Keroh; the attraction offers free parking.
When to Get There
The park is open every day of the week, with slightly longer hours on weekends. Cultural shows take place throughout the day, with extra performances on the weekends.
Ayer Keroh Recreational Forest
The Ayer Keroh Recreational Forest, located near the cultural park, is another family-friendly destination. Hike, jog, or cycle through this 228-acre (92-hectare) natural area, which also contains a playground for kids, a suspension bridge, observation towers, and campgrounds for those who want to spend some quality time in nature.
