The basics

There’s a lot to see at Valley of the Nobles, which has more than 400 tombs. Tickets are sold by tomb group, and you’ll need a separate ticket for each group. With so many options, it can be hard to know where to start, so visiting with a tour guide is a good strategy to ensure you find the most interesting sites here. Nearby destinations include the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Artisans, and many tours combine the Valley of the Nobles with other stops on the West Bank.

Tour to Ramesseum, Habu Temples, and the Valley of the Nobles
What an experience… please make time and check out Ramesseum, Habu temple and the valley of the nobles. Habu temple is a one of a kind location to check out. It shows more details about Ramesses in his daily life. Also you can see how the temple was hellenized and appropriated for the Byzantines. The Valley of the Nobles tombs sell themselves with their well preserved wall paintings of their daily lives in the past.

This trip was the missing part of our vacation to Egypt. The temples were really really amazing especially the Valley of the Nobles for me, I would like to thank Aviola our guide for her wonderful explanation of these archaeological areas and the driver for being always on time. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone

Luxor Day Tour to Habu Temple, Valley of the Nobles and Deir El Madina
Hatem was a great guide, well-versed in Egyptian history of the new kingdom. He knew I was interested in history so He took his time to dive me in details about hieroglyphics, hidden symbols and special places in the Rameses III temple and Tombs of the nobleman. Deir-el-medina is worth the visit ! I recommend add to your tour the visit to Seti I temple, It's empty of tourist and worth it if you're interested in ancient history. On the other hand, There's a visit to an stone-workers shop where you can find and buy handcrafted work. If it's your first time negotiating something in Egypt I suggest ask your guide to help you bargain. as a personal tip always ask first for the price and bargain at least 50%. Note: Remember the tomb guardians may ask you for tips if they take you pictures. :) , do it ! They are really good photographers :) and I was alone in the funerary chambers so I strongly recommend it since your guide is not allow it to walk with you in. Enjoy! :)

Ramesseum, Habu Temple and Valley of the Noble

Tour to Ramesseum, Habu Temples, and the Valley of the Nobles
Our tour guide Mahmoud and driver Chesley were wonderful. Mahmoud was through in explaining each site. We accessed the West Bank of the Nile River, by crossing the recent bridge built in 1992 to get to the Valley of the Nobles. There we saw the Colossi of Menon for which we were told the nile River use to reach the entrance. The two statues were colossal and were bigger than human life could conceive, similar to how the Kings perceived themselves at that time. As we continued our journey we reached the tomb of Nakht and Menna. who lived during the 18th Dynasty. As a noble person, Mean was responsible for surveying the fields and recording the inventory of the harvest. Mahmoud was detailed in his explanation making sure that we had an understanding of what we were seeing. But was was more amazing was the art work and literature that was on the wall as a result of the drawings and documentation of the ancient Egyptians. No story book can describe it to you, you must come and witness it for yourself. As you stand in the Valley of the Nobles, which is dry and desert land and look our towards the nile you see the lushness of the land before you. Where the Nile becomes the source for which the farmland can be cultivated. This tour is amazing and it would require so much more space to capture all that we saw and felt, but need less to say Habu Temple and Rameseeum Temple were just as amazing and our tour guide Mahmoud was top-notch!!! Just be prepared if you travel in the Summer, the weather is HOT!!!

Which Tombs Should You Visit in the Valley of the Nobles?

Since the tombs in the Valley of the Nobles are divided into groups, you’ll be able to visit more than one with each ticket. In the Tombs of Menna, Nakht, and Amenemope, find vivid wall paintings with images of fish, game, and farms. The Tombs of Khonsu, Userhet, and Benia are known for depictions of feasts and flying ducks. For relief carvings that span two artistic styles, visit the Tombs of Ramose, Userhet, and Khaemhet.
