The Basics

Located 20 miles (32 kilometers) east of Cabo San Lucas on the road heading toward Los Barriles, San Jose del Cabo is a town of colonial architecture and lazy afternoons, but it’s anything but boring. Grab a snorkel and head north to Cabo Pulmo to explore Baja’s only coral reef or wax up your surfboard to ride the world-class waves. The fishing in San Jose del Cabo is legendary, and anglers celebrate their catch in colonial Plaza Mijares.

Bird-watchers and hikers can enjoy a stroll through Estero San Jose, where red-tailed hawks and white herons inhabit the oceanfront trails. Spend a morning relaxing on the sand at Playa Santa Maria and finish the evening with an old-town stroll past Iglesia San Jose. Walking and biking tours exploring the historical side of the town are also available.

A Lovely Evening
Wow, The walking tour was the perfect way to spend a lovely evening in San Jose del Cabo. We strolled through the streets chatting about local history. Christian is very charismatic and obviously has a lot of passion for local culture.

Historical and Cultural Walking Tour of San José del Cabo
If you do nothing else while your in San Jose Del Cabo, take the time out to go on a cultural walking tour. The tour takes place in and around San Jose's Gallery District and is pact with interesting and insightful cultural fact about San Jose. The tour guide, Christian, is a master in the art of storytelling and will use his gift to transport you to the past, then bring you swooshing back to the present where you'll view your surroundings with the history and knowledge of a true local.

Historical and Cultural Walking Tour of San José del Cabo
This tour was wonderful! Kristian brings a lot of personality to the history of the town and presents a fascinating overview of how San Jose del Cabo came to be, as well as offering information on the local ecology, food, and modern society. The tour was well run and easily walkable, at no point did any of it feel overwhelming or hard to keep up with. We would definitely recommend this to our friends and may even do it again ourselves next time we are in town.

This was a complete experience that combined shopping, sightseeing, drinking, eating, and sailing along with a very knowledgeable tour guide giving us historical info every step of the way. Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo Sightseeing Combo Tour
As far a a pleasurable day tour is concerned, we all had a very good time. The driver was friendly and knowledgeable, the length of the tour comfortable and the short glass bottom boat ride was great ( plenty of beautiful fish to see as well as the arch). Our only recommendation was to skip a store tequila tasting and have the lunch in a place all would enjoy near the marina, and or spend time in an art gallery or two. The glass blowing and store was fantastic addition.

Following the bike lane, discover the main attractions of San José del Cabo
This was a fantastic way to see this wonderful town. Safety was never an issue and Christian's knowledge base was exceptional as a guide for San Jose del Cabo. It was a leisurely ride with pit stops at several key places. Highly recommended!

Private Day Trip to San José & Cabo San Lucas
My family and I (kids age 18 and 15) highly recommend this tour. We stayed at the Four Seasons Las Palmas so this was our one full day outing from the eastern shore of the peninsula and back toward San Jose y Cabo. We took a car from the Four Seasons and met Uvaldo near Starbuck’s in San Jose. Uvaldo was FANTASTIC! He took such care of us throughout the day. We saw a great variety of places and things. He arranged a very memorable and delicious lunch for us in Cabo San Lucas. The glass-bottom boat portion of the day to the “arch” was magnificent. Well-coordinated and just the right amount of time on the water, but not too much. We felt like we had “VIP access” at the glass blowing studio, as Uvaldo was able to have them stay a bit late for us since our lunch was added during the tour. Along the way, Uvaldo seemed to know many people that we encountered, and this made us feel safe and welcome. My kids are still quoting some of Uvaldo’s phrases, such as when he enunciated “Allow me to get the door for you,” each time we stopped. He is a great asset to the region. Again, I would highly recommend this tour, especially if you otherwise intend to relax at the hotel. This is a great mid-trip full day way to see so much of the city. We ended our day by having a separately reserved dinner at Hacienda Cocina y Cantina, over-looking the bay and Land’s End. Uvaldo made sure that we arrived at the restaurant safely and on time. Thanks again, to Espeanza’s Tours and to Uvaldo. We hope to see you again soon!! The Edwards, Jonesboro, Arkansas
