2-Hour KENDO Experience in Kyoto

Available from Oct 27

2-Hour KENDO Experience in Kyoto

star-5
1. We are committed in authenticity. While some “Samurai” attractions tend to be mere entertainment, we commit ourselves to authenticity in all teachings in history and technical instruction. Even so, this workshop is designed for total beginners to thoroughly enjoy. 2. Every instructor is a Dan (Black Belt) achiever who regularly practices Kendo. All technical instructions are accurate to the Japan Kendo Federation instruction. 3. The main venue is the Hall of Fame. The Butokuden Dojo, built in 1899, is the most respected Kendo Dojo in the world. It was recognized as the nation’s cultural asset in 1996. 4. We have a story to tell. The instructor, Tomoyoshi, a great-grandson of the Hikone clan Samurai who fought in the “SEINAN WAR” (1877) as a “BATTOTAI" (Sword Corps) soldier. This historic incident inspired Hollywood to create the movie called "The Last Samurai”(2003).
