Modernism architecture of interwar period Kaunas emerged between 1919-1939. In only 20 years around 12,000 buildings were built. In the beginning of 20th century Kaunas was not very well developed. There was no water or drainage system. Lots of poverty. Everything changed when Lithuania lost the capital and Kaunas became the only temporary capital in the world. In this walking tour you'll learn about the history of interwar period of Lithuania and visit the most iconic buildings of Modernism architecture. Come along. We have plenty of stories to tell.

During this tour we will visit provisional capital of Lithuania- Kaunas. Kaunas was the capital of Lithuania between two world wars. Now it is second largest city in Lithuania. You will visit old town of Kaunas, remains of the castle, several churches, old president palace. Panoramic view of the city you will reach by old funicular.  Its possible to visit the Devils museum or Pazaislis monastery. I provide this tour from Vilnius with pickup and drop off to your hotel. If you stay in Kaunas, i can meet you in your hotel in Kaunas. Lunch and entrance tickets are not included in the price.
