The Basics

To reach the 246-acre (100-hectare) island of Tintamarre, you need to take a boat tour. Some tours emphasize eco-adventure, with a boat tour to Tintamarre and other islets such as Pinel Island and Creole Rock for a day of relaxing, snorkeling, and swimming with sea turtles. Other typical St. Martin tours might include sightseeing and shopping in Marigot or a gourmet lunch in the French side’s culinary capital, Grand Case.

Charlie, Allan, Flow, and Mario were very helpful and accommodating. My friend had bad motion sickness and the crew went above and beyond to make sure she was okay. Overall great experience. It was a whole day thing so plan accordingly

Speed Boat & Snorkeling Tour Pinel & Tintamarre Islands for CRUISE SHIP GUESTS
Exhilarating and yet relaxing day of boating, swimming and sunshine. Marit and Nicholi were great co captains… navigating the big waves, serving up ice cold drinks and wonderful hospitality! We enjoyed the local culture eating lunch at a beachside restaurant.

Great day on the water with a fantastic crew, especially Charlie. He was a very energetic, knowledgeable and funny host! We really enjoyed Tintamarre, La Semana, and other spots along the way. Highly recommend this tour, esp. if Charlie is on board!

The Original Eco Tour Full-Day Around the Island of Sint Maarten
Great relaxing day on the water! I had a lot of fun on this sailing trip. The places we visited were indeed great for snorkeling and the crew of the catamaran were very nice. Unfortunately we didn't get to go all the way around the island since there was too much seaweed on one side, so half way we turned back.

See-Saw History

Tintamarre has a history that mirrors that of the mainland. In the 18th century, French settlers captured it from the English who had held the low-lying island for 40 years. Not long after, the Dutch arrived, and the island become the personal playground of the van Romondt family, as overseen by the dashing Diederik Christian who earned the reputation of being “King of Tintamarre.” In the 1940s, the French snatched it back again.
