The Basics

To reach the 246-acre (100-hectare) island of Tintamarre, you need to take a boat tour. Some tours emphasize eco-adventure, with a boat tour to Tintamarre and other islets such as Pinel Island and Creole Rock for a day of relaxing, snorkeling, and swimming with sea turtles. Other typical St. Martin tours might include sightseeing and shopping in Marigot or a gourmet lunch in the French side’s culinary capital, Grand Case.

3 Island Adventure with stop at Tintamarre to swim with Turtles
Most amazing trip I have been on. Very professional, polite and a ton of fun. 3 stops with a fantastic lunch of Jerk Chicken, garlic shrimp, garlic bread and pasta salad. You would be crazy not to take this trip on the Boomerang.

3 Island Adventure with stop at Tintamarre to swim with Turtles
This excursion is an absolute must. The crew was great, the drinks kept flowing and the food was delicious. Two snorkeling stops (tropical fish and turtles), Pinel Island to feed the iguanas and two more stops at some of the best beaches and clearest water around. Our 4 year old son had just as much fun as the rest of the people, so I would recommend it for families with younger children.

It was a great crew! They made sure that everyone on board had a good (safe) time! Alec was excellent and helped to point out dishes while snorkeling.

3 Island Adventure with stop at Tintamarre to swim with Turtles
Such a fun day! The crew was awesome, drinks were great and the food was so tasty. Even remembered that we had one person with a food allergy and made separate plates for them. It was my birthday trip and they sang happy birthday to me and gave me a special gift. We saw so much of the island and cool sea creatures! Definitely a must!!

gloria and Charlie were awesome. I dropped my snorkel I brought with me in the first stop and charlie dove down to get it for me. I had a great time with the beautiful sites...creole rock was especially beautiful.

See-Saw History

Tintamarre has a history that mirrors that of the mainland. In the 18th century, French settlers captured it from the English who had held the low-lying island for 40 years. Not long after, the Dutch arrived, and the island become the personal playground of the van Romondt family, as overseen by the dashing Diederik Christian who earned the reputation of being “King of Tintamarre.” In the 1940s, the French snatched it back again.
