Chokoloskee Bay Tours
Located on Florida’s southernmost Gulf Coast, Chokoloskee Bay is about ten miles (16 km) long and two miles (3 km) wide and is separated from the Gulf of Mexico by the northern end of the Ten Thousand Islands. A popular destination for fishermen and water sports enthusiasts, the waters of Chokoloskee Bay offer a vast assortment of saltwater fish such as grouper, flounder and red fish for anglers. The sheltered mangrove islands of Ten Thousand Islands offer plenty of areas for kayakers to explore.
In the heart of Chokoloskee Bay is Chokoloskee Island, a small area that is considered the last great frontier in the Everglades. Settled by Native Americans two thousand years ago, modern settlement began in 1874. If you visit the island, check out the Historic Smallwood Store, which is housed in Ted Smallwood’s general store. Now a museum, it’s on the National Registry of Historic Places and is an authentic glimpse into the colorful—and sometimes bloody—history of this region.

At 1st sheltered destination, we will deploy very stable kayaks. The stealth of the kayak allows you to get close to the flora and fauna.
Our next destination is an uninhabited barrier island beach where you will be led on a leisurely, hands-on walking tour. Expect to see more seashells than you ever have.
After the walk, we are back in the kayaks, then the boat, then the golf cart and back to Crash the Cat.

Whether you are an amateur or a professional, this Private Photo Safari is the best way to photograph Everglades National Park’s wildlife. A very stable, flat-decked power boat is your shooting platform. Using an electric trolling motor, your guide will position you for the best shots. Unlike a shared tour, on a private tour, you and your shots are our only concern.
When shooting outdoors, the lighting is extremely important. Lighting is best in the mornings and late afternoons. As such, on this private tour, we depart before sunrise in the morning to be in position as soon as there is enough light to shoot. In the evening, we return after sunset. Since sunrise and sunset times vary throughout the year, we will contact you prior to your tour to arrange the actual meet time.
Our guides are on the water every day, year-round and have a good idea of the wildlife patterns. They can get you in position while the lighting is good.
