Calgary Tower Tours

Standing sentinel over the city’s downtown since 1968, Calgary Tower features an observation deck with a glass floor and a revolving restaurant 627 feet (191 meters) above ground. Both afford 360-degree views across the city to the snow-capped Rocky Mountains in the distance.
The Basics
A trip to Calgary wouldn’t be complete without seeing it from above, and the Calgary Tower is one of the best places to do just that. Visitors can peer through binoculars, walk on a glass floor rimming the observation deck, and watch a short film on the construction of the tower in the Theatre Room. For an extra fee, a self-guided multimedia tour is packed with content about Calgary’s history and landmarks. The Sky 360 restaurant makes one complete revolution every 45 minutes during lunch and one every hour in the evening, giving diners a panoramic view of Calgary and beyond.
Things to Know Before You Go
- Calgary Tower is a must-visit for families and first-time visitors to the city.
- Don’t forget your camera; the views from the top are stellar.
- Diners at Sky 360 enjoy free access to the observation deck.
- The tower is wheelchair accessible.
How to Get There
Calgary Tower is in the center of downtown Calgary, opposite Centre Street. Access the tower on foot using the eastern section of the city’s Plus 15 walkway network.
When to Get There
The tower is open daily throughout the year, except for Christmas Day. Evening hours are extended during the summer months (June to August). Visit at sunset for the most romantic views.
Calgary Tower Light Shows
The Calgary Tower is outfitted with 132 lights capable of producing some 16.5 million special effects and distinct colors. These LED light shows take place daily before the sun rises and at night between dusk and midnight. Watch for twinkling displays that also celebrate holidays, Canadian sports teams, important causes, and local festivals.
