The Basics

Tickets to the Szechenyi Baths include full-day access to the 18 outdoor and indoor pools, thermal baths, and spa facilities, with optional massages and treatments available. (Note that massage treatments must be booked at least 24 hours in advance.) The complex also houses a bar-café, gym, sundeck, and spa shop. For a hassle-free experience, prebook your tickets and enjoy skip-the-line access through a private entrance; opt for a tour that includes hotel pickup and drop-off; or combine your visit with other top Budapest activities such as a cruise along the Danube River or a city sightseeing tour. Non-bathers can also experience the architectural marvel on a guided tour of the historic baths.

Fast entry & nice cabin for storing stuff securely. Clean & well maintained. Not too busy, the outdoor pool was definitely the best & the hottest

Fast Track Entrance to Széchenyi Spa with Optional Massage
Beautiful setting/architecture, plenty of pools with varying temperatures (both indoors and outdoors), good, clean, hygienic facilities, had a great massage, one can just spend the whole day and not see the time go by...either you can take your towels or can rent them over there...must see place...highly recommended.

Good Spa

Fast Track Entrance to Széchenyi Spa with Optional Massage
The spas are good, especially the sauna. We went off-season so “skipping the line” was totally unnecessary. But I’m given to understand that it gets crazy busy later in spring and summer. If you’re traveling without flip flops or a towel you’ll either need this package or to buy them at the spa. So that saved a little trouble.

Really enjoyable morning. Was lucky enough to get nice weather for sitting out in February. Entry was really well organised, would recommend getting a cabin. Bar is card only.

Fast Track Entrance to Széchenyi Spa with Optional Massage plus Dinner Cruise
Thoroughly enjoyable experience. The Spa was a delight in the beautiful old building and with a variety of pools, saunas and steam rooms. Getting there early meant we had a couple of quieter hours before the crowds arrived. Book early to avoid disappointment if you want a massage as we missed out on that.. The cruise was a super way to see the river and city. The food was good but plates were cleared almost before you'd finished eating. The music was a lovely complement to the evening. I would recommend the experience

You can’t miss this Budapeste point of interest. I will recommend you to buy a ticket with a cabin. The staff is very nice. Please bring your own slippers and towel. A robe is recommended if you can’t survive a few seconds cold during the winter (since the water temperature is around 38C).

Arrived at 09:00, quiet and quick service getting into the complex. (would recommend this time to avoid busy periods around midday) Great baths with relaxing atmosphere and great value for money!

When to Get There

The Szechenyi Baths are open daily year-round, and the thermal waters mean that swimming in the outdoor pools is possible even in winter. The baths can get busy, especially during the peak summer season, so to avoid the crowds, visit on a weekday and get there early to enjoy the baths before the midafternoon rush. For a different experience, arrive on a Saturday evening in summer, when the baths play host to the Szecska parties and stay open until 3 a.m.

The Healing Powers of the Szechenyi Baths

The Szechenyi Baths’ thermal pools are typically heated to between 68°F and 100°F (20°C and 38°C), and are famous for their high levels of calcium, magnesium, hydrocarbonate, sodium, and sulfate. The mineral-rich medicinal waters have long been reputed for their healing properties and are reported to help conditions such as degenerative joint diseases, arthritis, and post-injury treatments. If that’s not enough, the saunas, steam rooms, infrared sauna, gym, mudpacks, and range of massages and physical therapies will help ensure that you leave feeling completely refreshed and rejuvenated.
