The Basics

This hip neighborhood sits at the heart of Bogotá, and most sightseeing tours pass through its historic streets. A typical tour of the capital’s old town will include stops at Plaza de Bolivar, Chorro de Quevedo, the Botero Museum, Teatro Colón, and Casa de Nariño, where the Colombian president lives and works. Tours of La Candelaria can also be combined with excursions to Mt. Monserrate or the nearby Zipaquirá Salt Cathedral, situated in the Colombian countryside.

Great tour of Bogota
Definitely worth checking out this tour. We were picked up at our hotel on time and met our guide Camila at Monserrate which was beautiful despite the cloudy day. We then walked down to La Candelaria and checked out a few local places. Camila was great and helped bring the tour to life. Would definitely recommend!

Bogota Private City Tour Visiting Gold & Botero Museums, Old Town & Monserrate!
Monserrate was the highlight for us. We loved the history of the site along with the amazing views of the city. The stop at the Cage Santa Clara was the perfect end to our time on the mountain.

Bogota Private City Tour Visiting Gold & Botero Museums, Old Town & Monserrate!
We really had a great time exploring city of Bogota at our own peace and with our wonderful tour guide Diana. She is very knowledgeable and polite. She went above and beyond to show us many points of interest, immersed us in the local culture and traditions. Our driver Nelson was also very professional and kind. We highly recommend this tour.

My introduction to Bogota
Ahmed_H, Feb 2020
Bogota Private City Tour Visiting Gold & Botero Museums, Old Town & Monserrate!
The tour was on my first day of my first solo visit to Bogota , for a 4- day stay . I wanted to get an overview of the city and its main must-see highlights, so that on the subsequent days I can re-visit the ones that for my perspective require more time . The program of the tour fulfilled that objective . Supported by an excellent, experienced, and extremely helpful guide who did everything she can to make it a great experience for me . And she succeeded . My only suggestion would be to try to obtain the funicular tickets in advance ( online ? ) if at all possible, to avoid the long waiting time in the queue , especially on a weekend .

Bogota Private City Tour Visiting Gold & Botero Museums, Old Town & Monserrate!
Our party consisted of an English only speaker (me) and two Spanish only speakers including a 9 year old. Christina not only took time to explain everything in amazing detail in our languages, she kept the enthusiasm of our youngest traveler. Also our tour was on a very crowded Sunday, but we received VIP front of all lines access. They provided wonderful snacks and stops to eat. Again Christina's familiarity with details in each museum and stop was incredible. I only wish Viator provided a way to tip, like many Americans, I rely on electronic payment and don't carry much cash. And both driver and guide deserved a nice tip. Very memorable tour. Thank you!!!

Canelazo, the Signature Beverage of La Candelaria

During your explorations of the old city center, be sure to stop into one of the cool little cafés for a taste of La Candelaria’s signature beverage, a traditional Andean canelazo. This warming drink is made with sugarcane liquor, cinnamon, and panela sugar, and is served steaming hot.
