The best tour I have ever been on
The whole experience was truly amazing. JB was an excellent guide. You can see his passion in explaining the history and stories about Normandy. As a veteran, I truly appreciated his professionalism. He mentions his wife’s family as being a military family, makes you realize the amount of respect he has for the United States military. My wife and I loved it.

Normandy D-Day Small-Group Day Trip with Omaha Beach, Cemetery & Cider Tasting
No one part, the whole experience is emotionally moving. Our guide (Nisa) went out of her way to make sure we could visualize those horrible days of our history.

Our guide (Regis) was personable, knowledgeable, and has a passion for the history. Great tour. My son and I enjoyed it immensely. Only wish my schedule had allowed for a full day experience.

Normandy D-Day Small-Group Day Trip with Omaha Beach, Cemetery & Cider Tasting
This tour really moved me so much and seeing the site where he allied forces fought against the Germans in WW II was very surreal. Our guide, Olivia was just super amazing. She was very knowledgeable of this tour and was very accommodating. So far, the best tour of Paris for us. I highly recommend this tour to a couple of fiends who were also moved just by seeing the pictures. The weather was perfect. Thanks for this experience of a lifetime.

D-Day Omaha Beach Area Morning or Afternoon Group Tour from Bayeux
The tour was fantastic and treated with reverance and respect for the lives lost in the fighting. We saw sights which were historically important and awe inspiring. Our tour guide, Tom, shared plenty of fascinating information and data about the events but also passionately portrayed a compelling story of the history of the war. Would recommend very highly!

Adrian was an excellent tour guide, friendly and extremely knowledgable -- took the time to explain all of the sites and answer questions. Standing on Omaha Beach was the highlight of the trip. If you have the time for a day trip to Normandy, do not miss out on this.

Normandy D-Day Small-Group Day Trip with Omaha Beach, Cemetery & Cider Tasting
The tour was well organized and details were communicated effectively. My guide, Antoine, was knowledgeable and very eager to make the trip memorable. Our group was small and I felt great attention was paid to us. The scenery was spectacular although sad knowing what transpired. Everyone should remember what was a sacrifice at this location.

OMAHA U.S Landing Beach - Day trip from Paris to Normandy in a small group
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour and would highly recommend it. Regis did an outstanding job from pick-up to return to Paris and all in between. He was pleasant to be around (important as we're all together approximately 12 hours!) and very informative as he took us to many parts of Normandy. Walking on Omaha Beach, visiting the American Cemetery and more, with Regis' informative commentary, was a memorable experience.

Things to Know Before You Go

  • Most tours visit WWII cemeteries and memorials, so it’s important to dress and act respectfully.

  • Wear comfortable walking shoes to explore the battle ruins and beaches.

  • Some tours are wheelchair accessible, but it’s best to check in advance with your tour operator.

How to Get There

Omaha Beach is located along the coast of Normandy in northern France, 15 miles (24 kilometers) northwest of Bayeux. Although buses run to the beach from Bayeux, the easiest way to visit is by private transportation or as part of a guided tour. The American Cemetery lies above the beach, from where a long walkway heads down to the beach itself.

When to Get There

Tours run to Omaha Beach year-round, but it can get busy during peak summer season. If you’re visiting in July and August, try to arrive early morning or early evening to avoid the large groups of day-trippers. The most moving time to visit is during the annual D-Day Festival, which commemorates the anniversary of the Allied Landings with a program of memorials, parades, and beachside picnics.

The D-Day Landings

Omaha Beach was the location of one of the most significant battles World War II. On June 6, 1944, American troops were given the task of securing Omaha Beach as part of a strategy to land Allied troops along five points on the coast of Normandy—an operation code-named D-Day. Due to unforeseen tidal forces and stronger than expected German defenses, the American soldiers suffered massive losses—2,400 casualties in a day of bloody fighting. However, the landing was eventually successful with 34,000 troops securing the area for the Allies, and thus beginning the end of the war.
