The Basics

While much of the park remains free to enter and explore, the Monumental Zone, housing many of the most notable landmarks—the benches, gatehouses, dragon stairway, and columned Hypostyle Room—requires a ticket to enter. Stop at the park on a city sightseeing tour, or combine a visit with a tour of Gaudi’s other notable works or even a half-day trip to Montserrat.

Lots of information and Olga was an excellent guide she was very knowledgeable and friendly. She also went out of her way and made sure we all took pictures during the tour.

Barcelona Tour with Official Guide: Sagrada Familia, Park Güell & La Pedrera
Our day tour of Barcelona was an excellent introduction to the city. It covered all the highlights of this diverse city and it’s culture. Our guide Miguel made the day delightful pointing out unique points of interest and making recommendations for our days ahead. We found Barcelona a friendly city and very safe considering the Covid pandemic. Spain takes safety very seriously.

Barcelona Full Day Tour & Skip-the-line: Sagrada Familia, Park Güell & Casa Milà
Outstanding walking tour with some very well coordinated cab rides to whisk us to the further off sites! Our guide Montse was great! Very good English and very knowledgeable. This tour is a must pick to see the key sites of Barcelona with a knowledgeable and professional guide with well-coordinated timing! Lunch was also included with wine/beer and Montse helped with the food selection. She also adhered very well with COVID prevention measures!

Not only was La Sagrada & Park Guell amazing but Olga, our tour guide was spectacular! One of the best tour guides I’ve ever had the pleasure of having. It surpassed my expectations! And I love it when that happens!!! She was personable, sweet and funny! I would have missed a lot of significant things if I had done these attractions on my own. Everything was perfect and wouldn’t change a thing. Thanks Olga!

Our guide Daniel made our day of touring so special. He was friendly and knowledgeable and was willing to be flexible so we didn't duplicate places we had already seen. It was a great day in a beautiful city.

Great tour the only reason it was 4 and not 5 stars was the change in where to meet & time. This was a bit confusing, but our guide Olga was great, super energetic and knowledge.

When to Get There

Tickets to the park’s Monumental Zone, one of Barcelona’s top attractions, often sell out during high season (July and August). Weather can also get hot and humid in summer; expect highs in the upper 80s F or low 90s F. Park hours are shorter in the winter months, while both spring and autumn strike a balance with fewer people, cooler weather, and longer opening hours. The hilltop area in the free portion of the park is a popular spot at sunset.

The Unsung Artist Behind Park Güell’s Mosaics

Some of Park Güell’s most notable features—its colorful tile shard mosaics—aren’t the work of Gaudi. His assistant, artist Josep Maria Jujol, was responsible for the park’s undulating tiled benches, as well as the tiled, domed ceiling of the Hypostyle Room.
