Aguada Hill (Morro da Aguada) Tours

Aguada Hill (Morro da Aguada)
At the heart of Unipraias Park, Aguada Hill (Morro da Aguada) affords a spectacular view from its 787-foot (240-meter) summit. The Bondinho cable car or teleférico links the hilltop viewpoint with the park’s two beaches—the only beach-to-beach cable car in the world.

The Basics
Purchase round-trip tickets for the cable car and get access to all three stations. Most travelers start at Barra Sul station, the beach on the west side of the hill, before riding through the rainforest to Mata Atlantica station atop Aguada Hill, and then continuing to Laranjeiras beach on the east. Once on top, take in the view, walk the trails, and (for additional fees) experience the Youhooo! mountain sled, ZipRider zipline, and Fantastic Forest playground.

Things to Know Before You Go
  • There are restaurants and amenities at each cable car stop.
  • Combination tickets are available, including access to the cable car and the three hilltop attractions. Children under 5 are free.
  • Wear closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothing to fully enjoy all of the attractions.
  • The cable car is wheelchair accessible, but some attractions and activities may not be.

How to Get There
The main ticket office is at Barra Sul station, just east of downtown Balneário Camboriú. Buses run along the seafront the Unipraias Park, but it’s easiest to hop in a taxi. Paid parking is available at Barra Sul Station.

When to Get There
The cable car runs year-round and is open morning to mid-evening in summer (December to February) and morning to early evening the rest of the year. In low season (June-August), the cable car is only open on weekends and holidays, so it’s best to check in advance before planning a visit.

Family Fun in Unipraias Park
While the highlight of a visit to Unipraias Park is riding the cable car, there are several other attractions. At the top of Aguada Hill is ZipRider, a zipline affording views over the rainforest and coast; the Fantastic Forest, with enchanted forest-themed trails, a train ride, and a goblin village; and the Yoohooo! mountain sled that winds through the rainforest. On either side of the mountain, the beaches provide opportunities for swimming, sunbathing, and water sports.
