SEA LIFE® Konstanz Tours

SEA LIFE® Konstanz
SEA LIFE Konstanz, on the shores of Lake Constance, is an educational, family-friendly aquarium featuring a variety of species, both native to the area and from further afield. Interact with the animals at the rock pool, learn about their behavior, and watch feedings.

The Basics
This popular aquarium offers 35 different pools and habitats containing 3,500 animals. Along with local fish that populate Lake Constance, you'll find Antarctic gentoo penguins, rescued sea turtles, North Sea creatures, and rainforest dwellers—there's even a piranha tunnel and an inhabited wreck. Head to one of the many daily feedings to learn more about the residents and see them at their most active.

Things to Know Before You Go

  • SEA LIFE Konstanz is popular with families.
  • Pre-book admission tickets online to save time and take advantage of discounts.
  • Part of the park is outdoors, so dress with the weather in mind.
  • All the facilities are wheelchair-accessible.

How to Get There
SEA LIFE Konstanz is situated on Lake Constance, in Southern Germany, near the border with Switzerland. The nearest major city is Zurich; from there, it takes about an hour to get to drive to the aquarium along the A7 and about an hour and 20 minutes to reach the area by train. The Konstanz railway station is about a five-minute walk from SEA LIFE.

When to Get There
SEA LIFE Konstanz is open every day of the year except for Christmas Eve. Opening hours vary seasonally. Check the schedule for daily animal feeding times. The aquarium is busiest on weekends and holidays and also during German and Swiss school holidays.

Lake Constance

Lake Constance is a popular vacation spot for travelers interested in spending time in nature. Get outdoors on the circular hiking and cycling routes that run along the perimeter of the lake, and visit Rhine Falls, one of Europe's largest waterfalls. The area’s historic attractions include Salem Monastery and Palace, a 12th-century Cistercian abbey just outside of Konstanz, and Meersburg Castle, the oldest inhabited castle in Germany.
